Ashleywood House Opens

June 1998 – Ashleywood House, which is situated in large private grounds in the Waterside area, was re-opened after refurbishment and became our second much needed refuge in the city.

Pathways Centre Opens

October 1998 – The new Pathways aftercare/outreach centre was officially opened at Pump Street, by Kathleen O’Toole, from the Boston College Alumni Association who at that time was sitting on the board of the Northern Ireland Police Commission.
There had been extensive refurbishment throughout the whole building, creating office spaces, training room, conference room, client sitting room, kitchen and creche facilities.

BBC Interview with Claire Archibald from QUB

February 1999 – BBC Interview with Claire Archibald from Queens University, she talks about the implementation of the Family Homes & Domestic Abuse Order NI, and also the upcoming Foyle Interagency Conference in March.

A Local Inter-agency First

March 1999 – First local inter-agency conference held on domestic violence. Organised by the Foyle Inter-Agency Forum and held in the Everglades Hotel in Derry, and called Partnerships for Change.
