March 2018 – Ulster University Law Clinic was launched at Ulster University Magee campus in partnership with UU School of Law, UU Science Shop and Foyle Women’s Aid. The Clinic will offer innovative, dedicated legal advice and support to victims of domestic abuse and their families throughout the Northwest.
The law clinic will be available through the Pathways offices of Foyle Women’s Aid one day a week.
Speakers on the day included UU Vice Chancellor Paddy Nixon, Judge Barney McElholm, who spoke about the development of the new Foyle Family Justice Centre ‘One Safe Place’

April 2018 – The 18th Annual Alliance for Hope Conference was held in Fort Worth, Texas. This is held in association with the Family Justice Centre Alliance and attended by representives from Family Justice Centres all over America and Europe.
This busy 3 day conference was attended by our Director Marie Brown, our Teenlink Programme Coordinator John O’Hagan and Chairperson of the FWA Management Committee Eileen Webster.
Marie Brown also hosted one of the workshops outlining Foyle Women’s Aid services and also plans to open the first Family Justice Centre in Northern Ireland.
June 2018 – Foyleside Shopping Centre in Derry~Londonderry, held a Summer Fashion Event in association with Dress for Success Foyle and Foyle Women’s Aid.
Various fashion and beauty retailers based in Foyleside also got involved with the event – Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, H&M, Next, Dunnes Stores, Topshop and River Island. There was also make-up demos from Syenna Hair & Beauty.
July & August 2018 – The Children & Young People’s Service – POD15, had a great summer of fun activities throught the summer scheme, trips out to Portrush and Mellon Fun Farm, and a fun day in the grounds of Ashleywood House. The Teenlink group also got an overnight stay away at the Wild Atlantic Equestrian Centre in Tullagh Bay.
